Nectarines — an Obscure Fruit?

This weekend, I found myself shopping in an unfamiliar store — we were visiting relatives, but still needed some essentials for the coming week. My daughter asked if she could take nectarines to school with her, but after walking up and down the fruit aisle several times, I still couldn’t find them.
